Disaster Recovery on AWS

The Business Challenge

Business continuity is an imperative. IT disasters, such as data center failures, server data corruption, or cyberattacks, can disrupt your business, impacting your revenue and damaging your reputation in the market.

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery Service (AWS DRS) is a unique service that minimizes downtime and data loss through continuous replication of data, and by enabling fast, reliable recovery of physical, virtual, and cloud-based servers into AWS.

Overview

Uturn has taken its proven approach using AWS DRS to create this quick-start program. We will leverage your existing infrastructure, using the AWS cloud platform as the target, in your disaster recovery strategy. Working together, Uturn will help you identify key workloads that require disaster recovery capabilities and replicate these workloads into AWS. We will work with you to apply automation and innovative operational processes to ensure quick and reliable failover between your existing on- premises systems and AWS.

This approach enables you to develop a business case for cloud-based disaster recovery while receiving technical support to validate AWS DRS in your environment, including setting up the recovery environment and testing application failover to AWS in real-world scenarios. Upon completion, you will have everything you need to successfully operate AWS DRS.

Benefits

  • Reduce downtime and protect against data loss with continuous replication

  • Decrease total cost of ownership (TCO) with a low-cost staging area; pay for fully provisioned workloads only in a disaster or drill

  • Simplify implementation and increase reliability with automated failover and failback technology

  • Set up, maintain, monitor, and test with non-disruptive drills—quickly and easily

  • Protect enterprise applications and databases with a single tool; replicate all applications and databases that run on supported operating systems
