The Challenge

As Amount scaled its digital lending platform for major financial institutions, the company’s existing data infrastructure could no longer keep pace with business growth.

Early-stage tools that had served the company well—such as Luigi for data pipelines and a third-party hosted big data platform—were struggling under increased data volume and processing demands. The system’s unpredictable uptime, missed SLAs, and high maintenance overhead created operational bottlenecks and risked customer satisfaction.

Amount needed a modern, flexible, and secure data platform capable of:

  • Handling large-scale data processing across multiple AWS services (Aurora, Postgres RDS, and S3).

The Solution

  • Terraform for infrastructure-as-code automation and reusability.
  • AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) to host Astronomer and Airflow within a secure, compliant environment.

UTurn validated all technical and security requirements, built and deployed a production-ready environment, and facilitated a seamless migration from legacy pipelines to the new AWS-native architecture. The Terraform templates established a repeatable, scalable model for onboarding new tenants—reducing manual effort and ensuring future consistency.
